Solar Expert Training

Training at PV Measurements

PV Measurements provides training for up to two people in a single session on all systems purchased from PV Measurements. This training is traditionally provided before shipment of the system from PV Measurements.

Training on location

Training at the location where the system is installed is also available for a reasonable fee. The trainer from PV Measurements can also perform or assist with the installation of the system at the lab location.

Photodiode Calibration Service

PV Measurements can calibrate photodiodes for spectral response measurements. Calibrations are performed with respect to our spectral response standards, which are calibrated at NIST. The standard wavelength range is 300 nm to 1100 nm. Extensions up to 1400 nm and 1800 nm are available.

Silicon photodiodes are normally calibrated between 300 nm and 1100 nm and Germanium photodiodes between 800 nm and 1400 nm or 800 nm and 1800 nm.

Reference Solar Cell Calibration

PV Measurements provides solar reference cell calibrations with NIST traceable measurement equipment and a class-AAA solar simulator for maximum accuracy.

For a reference cell to be a useful device in setting the light intensity of a solar simulator, it needs to be calibrated. The requirements for this calibration vary depending on the intended use for the measured I-V data.

The PV Measurements calibration laboratory uses a strict set of processes to ensure the greatest calibration accuracy possible.

Accredited Reference Solar Cell Calibration

Photovoltaic reference cell calibrations at an ISO17025 accredited laboratory provide researchers and quality managers with traceable calibrations in a laboratory that follows strict quality protocols. This is necessary for many process monitoring and verification applications.

For a reference cell to be a useful device in setting the light intensity of a solar simulator, it needs to be calibrated. The requirements for this calibration vary depending on the intended use for the measured I-V data.

PV Measurements has partnered with an ISO17025 certified calibration laboratory to deliver calibrations that are verified by a third party. This collaboration adds a check to the calibration process since the reference cells are tested by two independent laboratories.

Reference Cell Calibration

A recently calibrated reference solar cell is a very important component in an accurate solar cell measurements. PV Measurements offers two calibration options for photovoltaic reference solar cells. Depending on the requirements of the application, you can choose between an accredited and an un-accredited calibration service.
